Answer: option 1, 6 electrons

Explanation: Ethyne is a an unsaturated hydrocarbon called alkyne and has triple bond between two carbon atoms of Ethyne.

And we know that each bond is comprised of two electrons.

Hence 3 X 2= 6 electrons are there between two carbon atoms.

The formula for Ethyne is C2H2. Between the two Carbons is a triple bond. A single bond involves 2 electrons, so for the triple bond it is 3*2 = 6 electrons.
