The law of soil (also known as "Jus Soli") is when an offspring is born in the U.S., they are granted citizenship.

The law of blood (also known as "Jus Sanguinis") is when an offspring of an American citizen, you are a natural born U.S. citizen.

What are the definitions to 'law of soil' and 'law of blood' ? what does it mean ? please help me .
