Why do the Himalayan mountains grow

It's a plate collision effect caused by India plate and Eurasia plate

The cause is the relative motion of the tectonic plates. The India plate is
moving northward, scrunching into the Eurasia plate. Along the line where
they meet, the material is getting pushed up and wrinkled.
