What do you think drove Genghis Khan to conquer a great empire? Explain your answer.

What it was in the beginning was mainly a way to unite the Mongols, previously they had been fighting constant civil wars against each other. This was in order to gain either territory or power. However, by gathering up this huge army and pointing them towards an outward enemy, he was able to prevent the army and the Mongols from breaking apart into constant Civil Wars.
