The highest court in the judicial system of the United States is the Supreme Court. Currently, nine justices serve on the Supreme Court having been appointed by the President and approved by Congress. It is their responsibility to stand as the final say on the constitutionality of laws and orders carried out by the other two branches of government: the executive and the legislative.
