With regard to alcohol use, how was prohibition different from temperance? Temperance allowed people under 18 to drink alcohol, but prohibition outlawed it. Temperance allowed for bars to serve certain kinds of alcohol, but prohibition allowed no alcohol. Temperance meant refraining from alcohol use, and prohibition meant passing laws to prevent it. Temperance meant women were allowed to consume alcohol, but prohibition meant they were not.

The correct answer is C.

The temperance movement claimed against the consumption and sale of alcohol, due to the very negative effects it had on human held. The Prohibition was a federal piece of legislation introduced in the 18th Amendment to the US Constitution which banned the distribution, sale and consumption of alcohol all over the US and it remained in force between 1920 and 1933.
