Air pollution has a variety of effects upon health, including biochemical, physiological and breathing difficulties (such as increased coughing, increased C02 intake, restricting air flow, disrupt ventilation etc). The statement "It could restrict air flow through the bronchi" doesn't explain the effect of air pollution effectively enough.
