A ladder 3m long leans against a wall. It reaches 2m up the wall. What angle does the ladder make with the ground?

Here. I drew a triangle just for this problem. :) You can find it in attachments.

To find the angle, we must use the sine function. To find the angle, we must know the sine of the angle first. The formula for the angle we are trying to find is:

(Forgot to mention, let the angle = x)


sinx= (2)/(3)

=
sinx = 0.3333....

Knowing this, we can now derive that:


x=sin^(-1)0.3333

Using our scientific calculators, we find that:


x=19.47122°

Which is our final answer. You may round accordingly.
