They were formed due to the fact that the country was transitioning into a complete communist one party state. The people were sick of imperial forces, wars, occupation, exploitation, and gathered under communist leadership to create a communist country. Eventually the country openned itself up and ended the communist isolation politics, but many remnants of it still remain.
