What is a polygon that connects with the bases of a polyhedron

A point of intersection of three or more edges is a vertex. A polyhedron with two faces (bases) that are congruent and parallel polygons and whose other faces (lateral faces) are parallelograms formed by segments (lateral edges) connecting the corresponding vertices of the bases.
