Many people didn't like how much power the Catholic Church had in medieval times, so they split, literally. If you need to know what person, it was Martin Luther, not to be confused with Martin Luther King Jr. who comes MUCH alter in the future. They called this the reformation of the church, which later led to the Renaissance. Does this help at all?☺️
