Describe one way that presidential elections have changed over time

A loooong time ago, we didn't have secret ballot, they would just ask you out loud who you chose and people would get pressured into voting for certain candidates. now its very private and secretive to make it fair.

now a days you have to have photo ID, back then it wasnt common for people to be able to pull a picture of themselves out of their pocket. Also, in most places now its all technology based instead of good old fashioned paper
