harbors and inlets are usually formed when some areas close to water erode faster than others causing a result of a place where water can go closer inland, making a harbor or inlet

Harbors and inlets are generally formed when some areas of a shoreline or coastline erode more quickly than others, thus resulting in a place where water can travel further inland - creating a harbor or an inlet. An example of a harbor is Long Beach Harbor in California.
