What's 40% of 40 please explain.

40 divided by 100 times 40 and you would get your answer..... 16

The answer would be 16. So take a look at 40%, and change it into a fraction, which is: 40/100, but can simplify to 2/5. Then multiply that fraction to 40. That is how you can get 16.
