Is wax a closed syllable word?

No wax is not a syllable because you can't say it with pauses cause it's a 3 lettered word which will never be a syllable word

to figure out if a word is a closed or open syllable word, look at the vowel (a, e, i, o, u)

wax

open syllables- word ends on a vowel
closed syllables- the vowel is followed by a consonant or more

therefore, wax is a closed syllable

(another example; fro-zen; fro would be the open syllable since it ends on O (vowel); while zen - the e (VOWEL) is followed by a consonant (n)
