I believe the correct option would be the second one. Particles or atoms that make up the liquid will tend to vibrate and or move more slowly as it turns into a solid, the particles decrease in kinetic energy.

Answer:

A physical change occurs; the particles of the liquid vibrate faster and their kinetic energy increases.

Step-by-step explanation:

As you know when a liquid becomes a solid the particles in the liquid vibrate faster, and with more vibration and with more movement in th eparticles, the kinetic energy increases, and because of that the volume also increases, solids increase their volume contrary to liquids, that is why the answer is the first option.
