you find the number of protons in an atom by looking at the periodic table.
1) Find your element.
2) Locate The atomic number of your element
3) The Atomic Number is also the number of protons.
Usually, the atomic number is on the on the top of the atomic symbol.

You can find the number of protons in an atom by looking at its atomic number, as the atomic number indicates the number of protons (and electrons) in an atom.
