the answer is 8/3 you multiply 3 :by the 2 whole numbers and you get 3*2=6
now you add the numerator 2, so you get 2+6=8 now you put the numerator 8 over the 3 because the 3 is not moved, so you get 8/3
.

2(2)/(3)=(2\cdot3+2)/(3)=(6+2)/(3)=(8)/(3)
