In most cases, avoiding is not effective because you cannot get down to the root of the problem. By receiving feedback, you can construct a plan from there to resolve a conflict. The avoidance approach seeks to put off conflict indefinitely. By pausing or neglecting the conflict, the avoider hopes the problem resolves itself without a meeting. Those who actively avoid conflict generally have a low appreciation or hold a position of low power.
