Why did the colonists consider the coercive acts intolerable?

they wrre England's response to the Boston tea pary. it cut off harbors and rose taxes, this lead to the colonies banning together to help the damaged colonies. They considered it intolerable because of the retaliation for protest. this escalated tensions and started the revolutionary war the following year
