Subtract 50 mL from 62.4 mL to get the volume of the metal. Then, divide the mass (48g) by the volume to get your density

V = VF - V1

V = 62.4 - 50.0

V = 12.4 mL

Density = M/V

= 48 g / 12.4 m:
= 3.87 g/mL

Hope this helps
