Wendy is creating a large soup based on a recipe. Her recipe calls for 3/4 of a pint of milk, but she only has 5/8 of a pint of milk, so she can only make a portion of her soup. Wendy can only make of her recipe with the amount of milk that she has.

Answer: 5/6

Explanation:

Wendy can only make a portion, or fraction, of her soup recipe. Find out what part of the recipe she can make by dividing the amount of milk she has by the whole amount of milk that the recipe calls for.

When dividing fractions, multiply the first fraction by the reciprocal of the second fraction.

Therefore, Wendy can only make 5/6 of her recipe with the amount of milk that she has.
