If the pancreas stopped producing sodium bicarbonate, what would be the most immediate result for the digestive system?

The gallbladder would increase its production of sodium bicarbonate to make up for the loss.

The enzymes of the small intestine would not be able to break down food efficiently.

The stomach would develop ulcers as it became much more acidic.

The large intestine would be able to absorb more nutrients than it normally does.

The correct answer is The enzymes of the small intestine would not be able to break down food efficiently.

What this means is that you wouldn't be able to properly dissolve and absorb nutrients which can lead to many issues, from increase in weight all the way to things such as diabetes or liver problems.
