RNA has one strand while DNA has two. DNA has the nitrogen bases adenine, thymine, guanine and cytosine; RNA has the same nitrogen bases just uracil instead thymine. They both are nucleic acids. DNA is responsible for storing and transferring genetic information while RNA directly codes for amino acids and as acts as a messenger between DNA and ribosomes to make proteins. has a deoxyriboses backbone. RNA has a ribose backbone, but they both have a phosphate backbone. both involved in the production of protiens and both are formed in the nucleus.
