A non- native or invasive species is species which when immegrated or introduced into a ecosystem compete for resources with native species, and can cause decrease in number and extinction of native species.

Scientist estimate that 200 non-native organisms have been introduced into Chesapeake Bay this will lead to conditions like the non-native organisms can deplete the food sources of native organisms, they can be aggressive at acquiring and maintaining territory and they can prey on native organisms causing them to go extinct. But these organisms cannot form mutualistic relationships with native organisms as both have same ecological niche in an ecosystem, so there will be competition not mutualism. Also, mutualism is a interspecific relationship between different species in which all interacting species gets the benefit, but here competing nature of invasive organisms will not prefer mutualism.
