The source of the centripetal force required for a car to round a curve is friction, I believe. This would be because the cars wheels are grinding across the ground while rounding a curve. It's not Tension, because the stretching of the wheels don't really help and although gravity/weight make the car stay on the ground, it's the fricition that makes it round a curve.
