Explanation:

If you can calculate the sides of each tile you can get the ratio from the base to the height, in this case the side j-k measures 1 unit, and the side J-M measures 3, in this case the aspect ratio is 3:1.

And in the second tile the side P-Q is 2 units long, and the side P-S is 6 units long, now the aspect ratio would be: 6:2, if you reduce this it´d be 3:1.

Since both have an aspect ratio of 3:1 they are similar.
