All the following states left the Union after the battle of Fort Sumter except Kentucky.

The states that decided to secede after the Battle of Fort Sumter were Virginia, on April 17, 1861; Arkansas, May 6; North Carolina, May 20; and Tennessee, June 8.

Before them the states that had already seceded from the Union were South Carolin, December 20, 1860; Mississippi, January 9, 1861; Florida, January 10; Alabama, January 11; Georgia, May 19; Lousiana, January 26, and Texas, February 1.
