If michael's age is m , his father is 2+4m and 30 years
2+4m=30
1.2+4m-2=30-2
4m=28
2.4m/4=28/4
m=7
Therefore Michael is 7 years old.

The equation used would be:
4m + 2 = 30
where the answer would be 7.
