Wouldn't it be parasite? Tape worms and lice are parasites that feed on the host and can cause illness.

There are many examples of such creatures. You mentioned tapeworms and lice, but also many types of fungi, or even animals that carry diseases and viruses such as rats who were famous for spreading the plague.
