The correct answer is B. parallel to the shoreline. Swimming against the current or towards the shoreline you can easily lose energy because of the current opposing you so you may drown. If you swim parallel to the shoreline you will eventually be able to get to it or you will get noticed by someone from the shore which can save your life.
