if over 7 days the temp dropped by 35 degrees it would be 35 divided by 7. (because it say total drop in temp which means after 7 days it was 35 degrees colder). so the answer would be, "the temperature dropped 5 degrees every day"

If the temperature drops 35 degrees everyday for 7 days, you would have to add -35 + -35 + -35 +-35 + -35 + -35 + -35, since each day it drops the temperature would be -35, now the answer would be -245.
