Final answer:

To calculate the area of the quilt in square feet, you multiply the length and width in meters to get the area in square meters, then convert that to square feet using the conversion factor, resulting in an area of approximately 48.09 sq ft.

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the area of the quilt in square feet, we need to first calculate the area in square meters and then convert it to square feet. The quilt is 2.44 meters long and 1.83 meters wide.

The formula to calculate the area is:

Area = length × width

Using the given measurements, the area in square meters would be:

Area = 2.44 m × 1.83 m

Area = 4.4652 m²

To convert to square feet, we use the conversion factor where 1 square meter = 10.7639 square feet.

Area in square feet = 4.4652 m² × 10.7639 sq ft/m²

Area in square feet ≈ 48.09 sq ft

Therefore, the area of the quilt is approximately 48.09 square feet.

well the area is 4.4652 in meters but since we have to convert into feet these are the steps I did:

4.4652 m* 1 ft over 0.3048 m = 14.6496063 ft
