A right triangle has a height of 10 feet and a base of 4x^2 y+2xy^2 feet. Find the area of the triangle. Show all work and use mathematics to justify your answer.

Since the formula is (1/2) base height, (1/2) of 10 is 5 so multiply 5times the base polynomial resulting in 20x^2y + 10xy^2 ft^2. Remember also that a triangle is just half of a rectangle so if you multiply the length times width then divide by 2 you get the same answer.
