The metals that can release zinc from its compounds INCLUDE ALL THE METALS THAT ARE ABOVE ZINC IN THE REACTIVITY SERIES.

The reactivity series of metals refers to the logical arrangement of metals based on their degree of reactivity. In the series, the most reactive metal is placed at the top while the least reactive is placed at the very bottom. Generally, in chemical reactions, metals have the capacity to displace metals that are below them in the reactivity series; they do this by reducing the ions of the lower metals.

Since higher metals can release (displace) lower metals from their compounds, the following metals, which are above zinc in the reactivity series will release zinc from its compounds; the metals are: potassium, sodium, lithium, calcium, magnesium and aluminium.
