How is the French Revolution characterized

The French Revolution was a bloody war. The most known part of it was called "The Terror"... You see, it was called like that because because of the Guillotine. Many were killing aristocrats and rich families .Some families were being mistaken for rich and were killed. The French Revolution could be itself described "Terror".   ;(
