if you want a exact answer it is meiosis is the process of two cell divisions by which one diploid cell and four haploid cells with half of the chromosomes as the parent cell. the importance is that this process allows for sexual reproduction by creating gametes, male or female sex cells (male sperm and female egg).

Mitosis is important because it is essential for growth and repair in the body. Mitosis happens when a parent cell divides, creating two identical copies, referred to as daughter cells. During this process, it is essential that the daughter cells are exactly the same with the same copies of DNA.
