How was Benito Mussolini a dictator? Did he lead his people to violence? How?

He was a dictator because of the way he established his rule, and because he could not be opposed, nor could he be removed from the office with a voting or anything similar. He led his country to violence by entering the WW2 on the side of the Nazi regime.
