Explanation;
Metamorphic rocks are those rocks that may have originally been sedimentary, igneous, or other metamorphic rocks, which were then subjected to different conditions such as new temperatures and pressures, that made them to recrystallize and form completely new forms of rocks.
For examples,
w
hen limestone is subjected to heat and pressure it turns to marble. Shale when subjected to pressure it becomes slate which is a harder rock. Sandstone becomes Quartzite under pressure.
