3+5+7+9=24 uniits
240=24 units
divide both sides by 24
10=1 units

Your equation would be 3x + 5x + 7x + 9x = 240
Combine like terms and that would lead you to 24x = 240
Then divide by 24 on both side leaving you with x = 10
