Stalin suffered from a sense of inferiority because A) he grew up in an abusive family situation.

Joseph Stalin, who was a Soviet revolutionary, was born on 18 December of 1878. His full name was Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili and he was the third son of Ekaterine and Besarion Jughashvili, a domestic servant and a shoemaker. His father was a violent and abusive man who spent too much time drinking alcohol. He was violent not only towards Joseph but also towards his mother and brothers, The money that Stalin's father earned was all spent on alcohol; therefore, they were a very poor family. Besarion ended up abandoning his family when he realized that the money he earned was not enough.
