This algebra question can only be solved by first distributing the numbers through their respective parentheses.
so 8z-2=3z+6
then, add 2 to both sides: 8z = 3z+8
then, subtract 3z from both sides: 5z = 8
Then, divide by 5: z = 8/5

2(4z-1)=3(z+2)
8z-2=3z+6 expand
8z-3z-2=3z-3z+6 subtract 3z from both sides
5z-2+2=6+2 add 2 on both sides
5z/5=8/5 divide 5 on both sides
z=8/5=1.6 solution
