Francesco Reid helped Louis Pasteur disprove the spontaneous generation .Im just typing because it was too short.

Francesco Redi conducted an experiment similar to the one Louis Pasteur would do nearly 200 years later. The 17th-century Italian developed a spontaneous generation experiment that showed that maggots do not spontaneously emerge from decaying meat.
