Maria´s age=x-17
Orlando´s age=x
We can suggest this equation:
(x-17)+x=33
2x=33+17
2x=50
x=50/2
x=25
Maria´s age=x-17=25-17=8
Orlando´s age=x=25.
Answer: Maria is 8 years old, and Orlando is 25 years old.
