2x + y = 1 . . . (1)
3x - y = -6 . . . (2)

(1) + (2) => 5x = -5 => x = -5/5 = -1

From (1), 2x - 1 = 1 => 2x = 1 + 1 = 2 => x = 2/2 = 1

x = 1, y = -1
