First, let's find how many trees are not blue spruce in each row:
36 total spruce - 14 blue spruce = 22 non-blue spruce
In each row, 22 trees are not blue spruce.

There are 9 rows, so let's multiply that number by 9:
22 * 9 = 198 non-blue spruce

In one row there are 36 spruce trees. 14 of these are blue spruce.
This means that in a row 36-14=22 are not blue spruce.

There are a total of 9 rows with 22 not blue spruce trees each, so in total there are:

9\cdot22=198 not blue spruce trees.
