Fish are ectotherm (so-called cold-blooded animal). That means that they cannot regulate their body temperature which thus depends on the external conditions. So, if a fish were too warm it could swim into cooler water. For example, it can swim to the deeper parts of the water which are colder and its body temperature will decrease with the decrease of the water temperature.
