The correct answer is option C. A writer must be aware of connotation- in order to make the reader have an emotional reaction. Connotation is the opposite of denotation. Connotation is the secondary meaning of a word evoked from certain feelings or emotions, aside from its literal or dictionary meaning (denotation).
