6.735 x10 E 3 or 673.5 x 10 E 1

Depending on the amount of significant digits that will be used, however, for argument sake lets use the same numbers:

673.5 normally you would move the decimal behind the first number like such:

6.735 then count how many places the decimal was moved if it was moved to the left the exponent power will be negative and if you move it to the right it will be positive. Like the integer line below:

<----Negative side Positive side---->

<--- (-3) --- (-2) --- (-1) --- (0) --- (1) --- (2) --- (3) --->

So with that being said this is the answer: 6.735*10^-2 (because we went to the left two places)
