10% to 15% is the standard in American restaurants. Tip is a form of gratuity given to those waiters who served us in eateries. It is not compulsory to give tips but it is consider customary to do so. Tips are always calculated as the percentage of the total bill. 10% tip generally means that the service received is not totally satisfactory while 15% tip means that the service you receive is totally satisfactorily.
